I am continuously amazed by the energy my mom has. I look back on the years she had me at home with her and realize all she did was "GO." She had so much energy to run my sister & I around. She never seemed to tire. She always had the right words to say when I needed her advice. The house always seemed spotless, dinner was always "on" and she was always dressed for the day (with make-up on and hair done)! What on earth am I missing here? I have two kids, ages 6 and 4, who continuously need me. The house manages to get picked up and once in awhile dinner is "on" (I love the idea of sandwiches and cereal for dinner). Dressed? Sure. Not dressed up though. Hair? Sure. Not curled though. Makeup? Sure, if you count chapstick. OMG. I am pulling the entire sanctity of motherhood down the drain as I lay her on my deck. I do have a good tan though...
You are a great mom! (and your cakes are awesome!) I think most of what you said is true for most of us moms these days. For some reason the hours don't seem to stretch like they used to... and I bet your kids will look back on these days and feel the same about you as you do your mom. Love your blog! :)
